For Monroe Lions' success, please show strong daily ATTENDANCE.
Chronic absences are a critical factor that affects student and school success. Unfortunately, an overwhelming amount of student absences has prevented Monroe Elementary School from applying for a prestigious State recognition. Additionally, if a student is absent for ANY reason, even if the absence is excused, the school loses the daily amount allocated for that pupil. Over time, this adds up.
During the first 86 days of the 2017-18 school year, Monroe did not receive $126,933.78 due to student absences. Similarly, during the first 99 days of the 2018-19 school year, student absences kept Monroe from receiving $118,905.75. This year 2019-20, from September 10 to October 5, Monroe lost the opportunity to receive $29,050.38.
The loss of these funds negatively impacts our educational programs and services to students. It is imperative that as a school, we aim for strong daily attendance for the benefit of individual students and school-wide success.
